Transplantation
Liver transplantation today is an accepted form of treatment
for many patients with End Stage Liver Disease. More than 75%
- 85% of patients who undergo liver transplantation do well.

The NUH Liver Transplant Programme has performed over 70 cadaveric,
as well as living related liver transplantations, so far. Follow-up
at one year shows a survival rate of more than 80%, which is compatible
with the international standards.

Marrow Transplant /Oncology/ Hematology
The
Department provides specialty-level care in the medical management
of patients covering a broad range of both solid tumors and hematological
malignancies. The interests of the members of the Department include
cancers of the breast, colon, lung, stomach, head and neck, genitourinary
tract, ovary, sarcomas, lymphomas and high-dose chemotherapy/bone
marrow transplantation.
Cardiology
 It
provides a comprehensive range of services for patients with cardiovascula
disorders, including Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting CABG

Ischaemic, valvular, myocardial and vascular diseases
Cardiac catheterization and intravascular ultrasonography
Treadmill stress testing
Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography

Myocardial perfusion imaging
Cardiac pacemaker and automatic cardioverter-defibrillator implantation,
radiofrequency ablation and cardiac rehabilitation
Multiphasic Health Screening Program
This program is designed to identify factors that may predispose
you to major illnesses. The first day of the program is utilized
for investigations and the second for consultation with Medical
Specialist. For busy executives, health screening can be especially
arranged over one outpatient visit.

Refractive
surgery refers to surgical procedures that aim to reduce or eliminate
refractive errors of the eye. Today, the two most common and popular
refractive surgical procedures are laser In-situ Keratomileusis
(LASIK) and Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK).

provide comprehensive and specialized medical, surgical and oncological

Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery
The Department provides a round-the-clock specialty service
in the management of conditions related to the hand, wrist and
upper limb; and specialized management and care in reconstructive
microsurgery in the field of orthopedics, with special emphasis
on limb salvage and reconstruction and musculoskeletal oncology.
Laboratory Sciences
The divisions include: Clinical Chemistry, Haematology and Blood
Transfusion Services, Microbiology and Blood Donation Centre.
Recently, another division, the Molecular Diagnostic Centre was
opened to provide diagnostic services using molecular biology
techniques.
Surgery
The Department's expertise and facilities continue to reflect
growth in its range of surgical services from a minimally invasive
approach to conventional open surgery, radical surgery and transplantation.
Orthopaedics
The Orthopaedic and Traumatic Surgery service established was
one of the earliest in this region. It provides comprehensive,
broad-based, clinically oriented programme emphasising practical
and basic common problems in Orthopaedic and traumatic surgery.

Otolaryngology
The Otolaryngologist is the specialist who can help patients with
ENT problems, with his arsenal of special diagnostic equipment,
and relieve or cure patients with medicines and surgical procedures.
